I noticed that there major changes in rental office with staff, also I went to pay rent a staff had funny look on her face. Regardless if the rent was two days late it was paid in full. Im tired of the funny faces when folks pay there rent.

Worst Experience of My Life

I reserved an apartment last month(Howard Crossing, MD). I paid money to take it off the market. They call me two and half weeks before the move in date and say that the apartment is no longer available! I have rented apartment all over the US and I have never experience something so unprofessional. So here I am trying to find a place to move into, which I have called around and nothing is available this month or before or even on the date I am supposed to move out. It is disgusting and if this is how they treat people before they move in, I feel sorry for the people who rent from them. Oh and I called to get the return on the deposit because they cancelled. I have to write a letter and they forward it up to corporate office in NY then it takes 45 business days to get a check in the mail.

Home Properties Inc. Is the WORST Place I have ever lived!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Home Properties Inc. and Seminary Hills in particular Management: avoids doing any sort of repairs taking months to follow through even with repeated requests for simple and necessary repairs. Over Crowding Apartments: They frequently allow 4 or 5 people to live in a one bedroom apartment. Even the photo they post on their website (which I shared here) is Photoshoped or Decades old this place looks NOTHING like that picture Infestation: Cockroaches, Bedbugs and Rodents. I had not even seen a cockroach since I was in college but here they were a daily occurrence. I had never had a bedbug at all but shortly after moving here found myself waking up almost every day with bites all over. While I didn’t personally see or experience rodents I saw frequent notices regarding their presence or treatment for other units. Utility OVERCHARGING Markup: I lived in this area for quite a while prior to moving here and had previously paid my utility and water bills directly but at Seminary Hills and like all Home Properties communities they supposedly divide the total bill for everyone according to the size of the apartment and the number of occupants. What they don’t tell you up front but its in the fine print is that they SURCHARGE you for the utilities. In other words, they MARK THEM UP and then on top of that they charge you a monthly service fee. So they BILL you for Sending you a BILL. Based on what I used to pay to the Water and power companies directly my guess is they MORE than DOUBLE what you actually would be charged by the utility company. Frequent Notices without a reasonable amount of time: Recently they put notices on the door declaring an IMMEDIATE change to the Parking Policy and that a new towing procedure would go into effect that day! So obviously no thought or consideration that someone might be out of town for business or vacation. Common Ground Areas In the building I was living the stairways were disgusting there was a constant stench and they were always dirty. Move Out Rate after just a few months of living there I noticed that almost half the apartments in my building had people move out. I understand why clearly people who do live here move out as soon as they are able. Unbearable Temperatures The property was very badly insulated so when the A/C or heat were not yet turned on or were often turned off before the prevailing temperature made sense to turn them off. For example in the Spring they didn’t turn the A/C on until weeks of 80+ degree temps and in the Fall they frequently turned the A/C even when outside temps were still at or above 80. As a result the apartments were unbearably hot even at night my apartment would be in the low to mid 80’s. All management would have had to do was pay attention to what the weather was currently like and forecast to be and left the A/C on until a more appropriate time. Don’t Move Here If you are looking for a place to live and have any other choices besides a Home Properties Apartment and Seminary Hills in particular. I suggest you pick almost anything else, run do not walk as far away from Home Properties and Seminary Hills as you can. There might be worse places somewhere to live but I've never seen one that is anywhere near this awful.

Home Properties - Property Manager Review from Downingtown, Pennsylvania

Home Properties in West Chester PA has provided the worst customer experience I've ever seen. Despite being long time, excellent customers they treat you terribly. They have sited us for "storing trash" on our balcony when their trash compactor was out of order and too full to leave it there. They have also changed policy terms without notifying tenants. Lastly they do a terrible job of trash cleanup on the property and handeling weather issues, leaving snow untouched for over 24 hours. I have consistently had to shovel entire walkways myself so the kids can get to and from their busses. We used to enjoy this community until the management changed and it is impossible to connect with someone above your current management team.

Glen Manor has BED BUGS!!!!!! Do not let them fool you.

The exterminator service they use does nothing to stop the spread of the bed bugs. All the property worries about is renting apartments. The property manager is a complete airhead and very unprofessional. She really does not know what she is doing.

She continues to depend on her staff and other managers to do/help with her work.

BEWARE OF THE BED BUGS AT ALL HOME PROPERTIES COMMUNITIES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!

Hi, I am living in New Orleans park apartments, i had issue with water dripping from the top floor and i complained then 3-4 times, no one responds back, i complain again after a week... no response--- one of the manager- Lori Hines, she just answers " I will get back to you" or the management is Busy, But never gets back, i am having this problem since 1 month, i am paying 1200 Dollars for rent and this is the service they provide me with, Shame on the management of New Orleans park, I am not sure how they hire such people who are such less efficient towards their duties. If at all this reached the Home properties management- Please look in this.

Home Properties bullies renters and consumers

I found that home properties,a rental real estate co.in the northeast, tries to push around their tenants and tries to get renters to do work that HP workers are supposed to do.HP inc. threatens to take people to court if the renters do not empty out and clean rented units. It is a lot of work todo, while HP inc. employees sit around and do nothing all day.I've had bad experience with this company.SO watch out trying to move out of this place.Ive found that HP employees are lazy, are not very well informed about their own product, and are constantly sitting on their bitt trying to get other people to do their work for them. TO me,all their office cared about was getting the check for rent, then running out the door.
